Alexandra Armas:
Alexandra Armas, MA is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who joined the practice in 2017. She earned her MA in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Alexandra specializes in in working with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, body image distress, and trauma. Alexandra is certified in Gottman and Prepare/Enrich approaches to couples counseling, and she uses Family Systems Theory to guide her approach to treating children, teens and families. She is passionate about empowering teens and young adults to develop a strong sense of self that is grounded in knowledge of one’s inner strengths and attributes, rather than physical appearance or achievements. Isabella Nyquist:
Isabella Nyquist is an Associate Clinical Social Worker who specializes in treating individuals and families who are struggling with disordered eating, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders. Isabella earned her BA in Psychology from CSU Long Beach and her Masters in Social Work from CSU Fullerton, and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Isabella has experience in providing intensive outpatient therapy to children, teens and adults, and she is trained in the use of family-based therapy (FBT) and emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT) in the treatment of eating disorders. Her style is client-centered, affirming, approachable, and strategy-focused. Isabella is passionate about helping clients to develop a sense of peace and confidence within themselves that will allow them to pursue their valued directions in life. Isabella works closely with Dr. O’Connor to ensure that treatment interventions are fine-tuned and tailored to fit the unique needs of each client/family that she works with.
